I Might Be Blogging Again

It's been a long time...I finished my dissertation, got a new job, moved and started working. Along the way, I've made some good new friends and added to my list of frenemies.

Today, I started using Flock and it might encourage me to blog more often. I wish I'd written about the many things that I learned from my students and all the things I wish they would learn. But, this summer will give me a chance to write about my research ideas and by the time I'm back in the classroom with these chuckleheads in the fall, I'll be a blogging fool.

The Bestest Squirrel Ever

...Proving that everything in Florida is ridiculous.

At Stanford we have tons of squirrels, but I've never seen one attack anyone. I know it's wrong to laugh because maybe this squirrel has rabies and he did bite some kids, but I can't help it. If you get your ass kicked by a squirrel you probably deserve it.

Now watch...tomorrow one of these crazy little fuckers will come and get me.

A New Laptop Encourages Blogging

I think that I may have to revive this blog. I miss it. It helped sustain me through my horrible, horrible time in Illadelphia (as in makes me ill).

One of the inspirations for my new blog attack is my new laptop which I love alot. It is definitely a laptop for girls as it has a matching Dooney & Bourke laptop case, which I have not purchased much to the surprise of my darling husband. Anyway, stop in and see me some time, I might actually have something to say.

Lil'Kim versus Michael Jackson

Apparently Lil'Kim has gone through the same whitening process that has taken over Beyonce and Michael Jackson. Compare this white photo of Beyonce to this brown one. But, for a laugh, check this Michael link for what I think is one of the funniest things ever published in a magazine.

Getting Heated

So, this past year while I've been living in Philly, I've mostly recovered from my sports addiction. But, now, I'm back in Cali with the Hubster and watching basketball again.

I've had a major event as a sports fan that is after years of nursing a hatred of Shaq (as a player, as a personality and fashion icon I have always found him most entertaining), I found myself cheering for the Heat. I can't say exactly what caused this change, but I think it may have had something to do with the incessant taunting of other players by the huge crybaby, Rasheed Wallace. It's too bad that Ben Wallace, who I feel is an old school baller has to be stuck on a team with 'Sheed and with Tayshaun Prince who I would hate no matter what because he played for KY, but I who I also hate for having what appears to be competing for the title for "the worst posture ever exhibited by a player not named Gheorghe Muresan." I'm sure Tayshaun is an awesome human being but something about that guys face just makes me want to go and rochambeaux him.
